Study on rural qualifications

Study on rural qualifications

In collaboration with the National Agency for Qualification and Vocational Education (ANQEP) and the funding of POISE (Operational Program for Social Integration and Employment), the Portuguese Farmers’ Confederation (CAP) will promote a study to support the definition of qualifications for the rural world.

The overall objective of the study is to identify, the qualification needs, to map the key competences for the rural world and to design qualification standards for the development of the agroforestry sector, in a prospective point of view.

The study will be conducted by the Institute of Social and Economic Studies (IESE), under the guidance of CAP, and will include a diagnosis of the scarcity of competences and qualifications, but also a critical and updated review of the existing standards in the National Qualifications Catalogue (CNQ). At the end of this study, starting from the elaborated diagnosis, it will be possible to present proposals with new qualification standards.

The study focuses on the rural world and covers the entire continental territory, without being confined to specific sectors, although it has its main focus on the agroforestry sector. It is particularly relevant to support for agreements in the scope collective bargaining at sectoral level.
