Sectoral approach to qualifications

The Educational Research Institute of Poland is hosting an international conference organised under the auspices of the “Support to central government administration, awarding bodies and quality assurance institutions in implementing stage I of the Integrated Qualifications System” project, entitled: “Sectoral approach to qualifications – qualifications frameworks, occupational standards, sector skills councils”.

The conference is addressed to all interested in a development sectoral qualifications: employers, industry organisations, trade unions, members of Sector Skills Councils, representatives of the central administration and local government, training firms and other institutions and other units.

The aim of the conference is to exchange experiences on developing a system of sectoral competences and qualifications. The most important solutions will be presented to support the development of sectoral qualifications, including international experiences regarding:

  • sectoral qualifications frameworks;
  • sectoral standards of occupational competences;
  • sector skills councils;
  • research on sectoral competences.

The conference will also be a place for reflecting on the role of sectors in implementing the qualifications systems and qualifications frameworks, developing the skills strategies or international initiatives relating to professional competences, such as the Bologna Process, ECVET or EQAVET.

A key part of the conference will be panel discussions, in which representatives of various stakeholder groups of the qualifications system will participate.

Registration is open until 11 June 2018.

Participation in the conference is free of charge.
